If you’re new to Clubhouse, you may be wondering, is this just another social media app that will suck my time and give me little in return except for cat videos? Can I really boost business using Clubhouse?

If you’re still not sure what Clubhouse is, check out the Getting Started on Clubhouse blog post here.

I’ve spent a ton of time in Clubhouse lately, figuring out the mechanics and the ins and outs of the platform, and what I’ve found is that this is going to be a GAME CHANGER for freelancers. What I thought would be very random and disorderly, was actually very much like walking through a trade show floor, with each booth being a different topic and presentation.

So far on Clubhouse, I’ve connected with many thought leaders and heard them drop information bomb after information bomb, giving tons of free advice and value in their rooms. They are making the most of Clubhouse early on, and I want to show you how you can too!

Here are some surefire ways to boost business using Clubhouse.

1. Host a Room

Hosting a room is the best and easiest way to boost your business using Clubhouse, allowing you to position yourself as an expert in your field. As a host you are also the moderator, in charge of calling on people with questions or calling other experts up to the “stage” to speak.

Make your topic as broad or narrow as you’d like, but to attract ideal clients, niche is always better. For example, I can host a room called “Freelancing,” or I can host a room called “Finding your Niche as a Freelancer, VA or Service Provider.”

  • Invite Experts to Moderate With You
It’s a mutually beneficial way to add value and credibility to your room while sharing audiences and bringing in even more listeners.
  • Ping Followers:
With a tap, you can invite your followers to join you in any room you happen to be in, moderating or not!

2. Listen to Your Audience

Find rooms with audiences that resemble your ideal client and see what pain points they bring up. This will help you get to know and serve future clients better by developing solutions to their problems.

3. Follow Your People

While listening to the speakers, have a look at some profiles of others in the room. Follow and/or drop them a Dm to say where you saw them and introduce yourself.

4. Serve Others

If you feel you have more to add on a subject, raise your hand! When you add value intelligently, you’ll be considered another pro in the room people can look to and connect with.

Now, let’s say you’re in a room when someone asks about hiring a virtual assistant. Their question is answered, but you have a website to share and weren’t able to speak. Just pop into their DMs and say (for example): “Hey, I heard you on Clubhouse asking ways to hire a V.A. I wanted to drop a link to this website where I’ve had luck finding quality hires. Good luck!”

You just offered helpful advice for free, endearing yourself and making a connection. Easy win!

If you aren’t yet in Clubhouse, I recommend downloading the app and reserving your handle, which you can do even without an invitation. This way your ideal name will be available to you when you do join.
